Isotropic Geometry geometry processing discrete differential geometry

This thesis addresses challenges in computational design and fabrication, particularly in the geometry of architectural gridshell structures and their approximation, by solving nonlinear optimization problems.

Niloy Mitra

Assistant Professor, Applied Mathematics and Computational Science

geometry processing shape analysis

Professor Niloy Mitra joined KAUST as an Assistant professor in 2009. Currently, he is a Professor of Geometry Processing in the Department of Computer Science, University College London (UCL). Education and Early Career He received his Master and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University under the guidance of Leonidas Guibas and Marc Levoy, and was a postdoctoral scholar with Professor Helmut Pottmann at Technical University Vienna. His research interests include shape analysis, computational design and fabrication, and geometry processing.
