About Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences (AMCS) Program

The KAUST program in Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences (AMCS) trains students to develop, analyze, and solve mathematical and computational models of real-world problems.

The AMCS program enables students to address models of physical and biological systems such as electromagnetic and acoustic waves, human and animal physiology, mechanics of complex solids, as well as the branches of science dealing with social, economic and financial behavior.

The program emphasizes both fundamental and applied topics in mathematics and computational sciences including real and functional analysis, partial differential equations, numerical analysis, classical and quantum mechanics, kinetic theory, optimal control, high-performance computing and computing architecture, uncertainty quantification,  bioinformatics system, and many more.
